The whole idea of writing this blog is to remind you that you are not alone in terms of sharing the knowledge and experience and to be in a place where we will help each other with our English language skills.

IELTS refers to International English Language Testing System. This test is specially designed for non-native English speakers. IELTS helps evaluate the level of English language proficiency (your result will be a band score from 0 to 9). IELTS is conducted by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL), British Council and IDP: IELTS Australia. The main purpose of appearing for IELTS is either to apply to an international university for higher studies or to migrate to some another country. IELTS test has two modules – Academic and General. Aspirants who want to go for higher studies abroad opt for the Academic one while the General IELTS is taken by the aspirants who want to apply for immigration.

The most useful trick to succeed in IELTS is trying to find a way of making the language a regular part of our life. Why not use our technology to increase our vocabulary, learn collocations and at the same time, have some fun with learning. It would be really boring to learn vocabulary using some study materials which could be even more difficult to understand.

  • You-Tube

You-Tube is an amazing and interesting platform for the language learners. You can change the speed of the playback to your own convenience and understanding. We can make use of the subtitles for much clearer understanding. This way, we can keep checking the spelling of some unfamiliar words.

  • Podcast

Short audio clips designed to work on a variety of subjects and this can be helpful to the language learners as you get any topic of your choice using your podcast app. You can also change the speed of your recordings as per your understanding.

Now another important aspect of IELTS is to know that reading and writing are very much related to each other. The more in-depth reading you do, the more in-depth writing you would be able to do. The writing test is more about quality than quantity. It is a lot better to spare some time for proofreading and re-checking after writing the entire thing. This is really critical and hence, managing time should be one of the most important things which should be considered here. If you think that it’s your nature to overwrite, then should definitely know how to plan the essay. Try to fix a limit for each point which you’re trying to explain. Use these points to showcase your vocabulary and grammatical range. It’s important to strategize how to write an essay. This can be done by starting with a question wherein we can establish your point of view. This can hence, be a part of the introduction which can then be continued by the rest of the paragraphs. Start thinking of some examples/reasons to support your opinion and create real-life examples to make this clearer. The end of the essay should be well composed with a summary which should not have anything new. It should simply summarize what has been explained in the essay.

The success mantra of IELTS is constant practice and focus on all the sections individually, keeping the time constraint in mind.
